PEP LUNCHEON
The lazy, hazy days of summer are winding down and soon we will be looking forward to reconnecting as we launch another season of get-togethers known as people
Enjoying People (PEP). Our kick-of date is Tuesday, Sept. 11th at noon.
With Islam continuing to be in the news on an almost daily basis, we have asked Dot Cutter to return as our speaker bringing us updates aand fresh insights into Islam's agenda,
the correct penetration into multiple faceets of life in our nation, the nations of western Europe, and tge United Nations. Dot will explore what the implicatiions are for us as individuals and a natoion. She'll answer such
questions as:
* Is Islam really what it portrays
itself to be? Or does it have a dual
face? What about the apparent
"double speak"?
* How so today's politically correct
euphemisms increase our
vulnerability?
* Is assimilation a relistic goal?
* Does God have a redemptive plan
for the Muslims who are the
descendents of Ishmael but also of
Abraham?
* And lastly, but perhaps most
importantly, what is our responce
as Christians to be?
Reminders: Bring a dish to pass.
Bring a friend to hear and see
this information presentation.

THANK YOU TO MELLISA THAYER
After discerning the Lord's call at a recent retreat, Melissa Thayer submitted her resignation as Director of Children's and Youth Ministry effective July 31, 2008. Her new call involves one-on-one ministry to women with
cpmpassionate listening and prayer. We ask for prayers during the transition period and that God will make clear how sshe is to carry out her call to one-on-one ministry whitin the congregation.
We extend out gratful thanks to Melissa Thayer for her six years of dedicated service to our children, youth and church with Youth Group, Sundaya School, and Outreach on the Green. Her overssight of the adult
volunteers and involvement with children and youth made a lasting mark on many lives. Her leadership and spiritual gifts have been a blessing to the children's and youth moinistry. God bless you, Melissa, as you pursue God's
plan and purpose for your life.
